I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing team of teachers and in such a great community of students. Electric Soul Yoga is a beautiful community where everyone and anyone can have a yoga practice. We’re not trying to be anything other than our true selves. That’s what drew me to the studio; I knew after my first class this place was special.
After completing training with Eric Paskel's Life and Teacher Training in 2013, earning my 200 RYT, I knew I wanted to teach with this community. Every class is different and I aim to focus on letting go of self judgement to really enjoy each practice for what it is. I love having brand new students in class because this studio is so welcoming to all skill levels. One of the first things I tell new students is take your time, go at your own pace, and have fun. I love seeing all ages, and styles of people coming into class. Honestly my favorite part is looking around and seeing everyone moving and shaking to their own groove because it’s about letting go and feeling free in class. So we can work towards taking a little bit of that sweetness with us into our day to day life.
Alongside teaching at Electric Soul Yoga, I’ve also had the privilege to teach at various yoga fundraising events, working to help support Bumpe High School in Seirra Leone Africa. I created Swahlz Park Yoga for people to enjoy a practice outside, and also work with students in private yoga sessions.
Yoga came into my life at a point when I was looking for comfort and peace of mind in a crazy city where everything is nonstop. My goal is to help create that environment in each class, where we can take care of ourselves, reflect and strengthen the mind and body. It’s a constant journey and I look forward to continuing to grow with this community and staff.
