Kimberly Rosenberg

International yoga teacher and surfer are titles that represent me, however, yoga and surfing are a lifestyle I practice and live, not things I just do. In 2012 I completed my RYT 200 teacher training with Eric Paskel - founder of Yoga Shelter and Electric Soul Yoga. In addition to Eric’s teacher training I am certified by Prison Yoga Project’s Teacher Training with James Fox. With Vedanta as my principle philosophy on how I lead my life, I have studied in India under Swami Parthasarathy, Sunandaji- daughter and disciple of Swami Parthasarathy and continue to invest my time in studying Vedanta. My teaching style is driven from the words I live by- Robert Frost's “the best way out is always through.” My classes are driven from my belief of being able to find a way through a challenge by observing the laws of nature and choosing to move onward and upward. Classes range from challenging and dynamic vinyasa to soothing and restorative yin. What people refer to as me being a “badass” is my drive, determination and perseverance that is met by my calming and soothing nature to hold a space for you that is engaging, encouraging, revitalizing, supportive and nonjudgmental.

The long and the short of what finally got my ass in gear to heal and feel connected- I was tired of feeling overwhelmed by my feelings the majority of the time - I felt like a pendulum, swinging between numb and overly emotional. It was draining. I was oblivious to the life I was creating for myself. Although I began my path of health & fitness many years ago, I was still unaware of how I related to beauty, what beauty truly meant to me, and how I defined myself by it. My unhealthy relationship with beauty led me to an unhealthy relationship with food- disordered eating and an eating disorder. The first time I heard the phrase ‘paying attention on purpose’, in reference to mindfulness, was when I really started to pay attention to my life with eyes wide open, looking inward. The picture was bright and reflected adjustments that needed to be made in my life. A phrase I say often is #makeshithappen...and that is exactly what I did.

Through practicing yoga, surfing, and the philosophy of Vedanta, I walk my path with greater values, simple living, and rad connections! I look forward to sharing and connecting with you!
